The Lifestyle Edit is a blog series, featuring some recent highlights of my day-to-day life. Hopefully, you’ll still find inspiration and relatable content through this blog series. If not, let’s still celebrate life and the everyday victories we face.
Your Favorite Golf Girlie
Meeting a community of women golfers has been a worthwhile experience because I have been meeting amazing women and having a great time out on the courses. In my previous Lifestyle Edit, I mentioned going through golf lessons. We’ve gone through exercises to improve my grip, backswing, follow-through, hip sway, and leg movement. I need to practice at the driving range to ensure all these mechanics flow naturally.
In the last two months, I’ve hit up:
- The Ranch at Laguna Beach
- Eaton Canyon
- Penmar
- Monarch Beach Golf Links
- The Links at Terranea
At Penmar, I broke my driver. That entire expedition will have its own dedicated blog post soon.
Health is Wealth
I’ve been at Barry’s Bootcamp a lot more recently and tracking my wellness performance through my Oura ring. It’s great to see how my heart rate climbs up and recovers during runs/sprints. I finished a 90-minute Super Bowl Special a few weeks ago, and it was an intense mental feat. What makes the most difference is an instructor who can curate a tactical workout routine and playlist.
The Lululemon Run Club has been great! I’ve switched to running the 3-mile course, and it has been good for me as well, especially the uphill climbs.
Do I train at the Run Club to survive at Barry’s? Or do I train at both to survive the push carts at golf courses? I’m also happy that I am able to work out at Barry’s and play golf on the same day.
From Vision to Execution
I probably browsed through Pinterest a bit too hard and was inspired by the “bougie girl with the big monogram bag” vibe. I made it happen a few days later. A bit crazy because I still haven’t debuted the Louis Vuitton bag I bought in Italy. Also, I thought I wouldn’t buy any more canvas bags, but they can be used and abused. Unboxing blog post in the near future.
I’m doing much more technical work with Application Security and enjoy web application black-box testing. Web application security was my least favorite class in college, and in my early career, then now, I ended up being part of a team dedicated to the practice and art. It’s maybe because I got lucky with a few applications and found serious issues. Wow, escalating privileges because of broken access controls? I’ll take these mulligans. I’m in a much better place at this time. It took me a while to get to a peaceful place.
