The Gucci Osteria Experience

September 5, 2024

Gucci Osteria in Beverly Hills earned its first Michelin Star this year, and we had to return to enjoy the dining experience again. My first visit was back in 2021, and I had a very Gucci experience. How was the Gucci Osteria experience in 2024? Keep reading.

The Drink Menu

The drink menu had quite an upgrade—the drinks doubled in price, but that’s to justify the experience. We opted for the non-alcoholic menu (the mocktails) and were not disappointed. I ordered the N/A-Groni, a play on Negroni. I love that the block of ice had “GUCCI” stamped on it. That’s very Gucci.

The Lunch Menu

If you’re looking for the iconic Gucci Osteria lunch menu, make sure to book a reservation from Monday to Saturday. Sunday features an all-day brunch menu, which is still great, but I wanted a taste of Massimo Bottura’s creations in Los Angeles. The head chef at this restaurant is Mattia Agazzi, who blessed us with his presence when he checked in on our experience. I love it when the head chef comes out to greet the guests. Not me talking about how I’m a fan of Massimo because of Chef’s Table.

The restaurant will start you off with some simple bread and butter/cream. They treated us with a bite of parmesan wafers. WOW!

Insalata di Mare

Poached seafood salad, crunchy seasonal greens, smoked trout roe

I LOVED this as the starting dish. There were different seafood bits accompanied by salad and a spritz of lime. The seafood was buried under all of the greens. The trout roe was a great addition.

Tortellini

Parmigiano Reggiano sauce

The tortellini dish is the ICONIC dish that defines Massimo Bottura. This story goes back to Massimo’s childhood, when he would pick the tortellini that his grandmother had just rolled. Later, he went on to revolutionize the tortellini dish. Traditionally, tortellini was served in basic broth, but he added chicken gelatine over six pieces of tortellini. Then, he tried again and ended up with the famous creamy dish.

This dish tasted amazing. I enjoyed every bite, sip, and taste of the tortellini and broth. I am thankful it was not just six pieces of tortellini. Mattia explained that they have a master pasta chef coming in every morning to roll the tortellini. Wow. I highly recommend it and am so happy I got to try this closer to home. Though, I wouldn’t mind going back to Italy.

Emilia Burger

Beef Ribeye, cotechino, salsa verde, balsamic mayonnaise

I love calling this the Gucci burger. It’s the fanciest burger you can ever consume.

Patatine Fritte – Our Fries Don’t Speak French

Roasted chicken salt, EVO mayo

These are not French fries – they’re Italian fries. Get it right.

Dessert

The pastry chef makes fun creations, complimentary by the house of Gucci. They gave us a little chocolate bite and a sugar bite. I ended up getting a double shot of espresso before leaving!

The Gucci Osteria Experience

It is so crazy how much time has passed since my last visit, but I am so happy I got to enjoy Gucci Osteria again. The principles stayed the same, and it’s always a good time.

  • Parking: Opt for parking at the parking lot or valet in front for $20.
  • Service Charge vs. Tip: I couldn’t figure this out because they automatically charged us a 20% service charge and had a line for the tip. There have been mixed reviews about treating tips like normally (~20%) or adding a few percentages. I’ll leave this up to you on how you enjoyed the Gucci Osteria Experience. The staff were amazing, so I didn’t mind giving a stack extra.
  • A la Carte or Tasting Menu: It depends on your appetite – if this is the only time you’re going, definitely do the tasting menu. However, I’ve been here before and know about the offerings. All I needed was the tortellini.
