Last year, I added the Chanel Round Sunglasses to my collection. I’ve been a huge fan of metal-framed sunglasses because they look classy, are cute, and last longer. Sunglasses not only protects your eyes, but also makes a fashion statement.
The Chanel Round Sunglasses was my first pair of Chanel sunglasses, and I’m stoked with my pick! I picked this pair out during an exclusive beauty event at the Chanel Beauty Boutique at the Americana at Brand.
The Iconic Chanel Packaging
The Chanel Round Sunglasses comes in the iconic Chanel packaging, the dark charcoal box wrapped in a white Chanel-embossed ribbon, with a camelia on top. The sunglasses case is a soft-shell, which is great if you’re looking for flexibility, but questionable when it comes to actual protection. I suppose the “Chanel way” is to be careful with your belongings and not let things cramp in your handbag (specifically, the Chanel flap bag). The sunglasses case is also very prone to dust.
The Chanel Round Sunglasses
The Chanel Round Sunglasses is as describes; it’s round. It has a metal frame with a calfskin lining, making the “CC” effect on top, which runs along the sides. Chanel does a great job with making their sunglasses fashionable. You also have the option of taking the sunglasses to an optometrist and replacing it with prescription lenses.
The sunglasses come in two different trims (variants):
- Black and Grey: Black frame and grey lens
- Gold and Black: Gold frame and brown lens (interesting label, but I’ll take it)
Specifications:
- 100% UVA and UVB Protection
- Lenses are UV Category Filter 3
- Prescription Friendly
- Made in Italy
- Frame width: 127mm
- Lens width: 53mm
- Lens height: 53mm
- Temple Length: 135mm
I’m a huge fan of these sunglasses – it’s great both in casual and elevated outings. I took them to a college tailgate and brunch. The sunglasses is very comfortable and rests well on the bridge of my nose without leaving an invasive mark. It is recommended to retouch your makeup if you intend to keep them off for a while. The metal framed sunglasses cost a bit more than an acetate-based sunglasses. It’s good to have options.
However, with the calfskin lining, it’s best to avoid getting the sunglasses wet. This means avoid a beach outing with these sunglasses.
