TikTok taught users how to be a mini producer, director, and editor for short clips. People can keep things simple with a straight shot, or add some complexity with some degree of video editing. This technology gave us a fun pastime to create, share, and view content.
Vine was one of the earlier video-based social media platforms. Instagram responded by providing video capabilities. TikTok eventually came along and provided some real competition that got Reels launched to production. It took me a while to get on the TikTok train. I even interviewed at their company earlier last year and figured the company didn’t really fit what I was looking for.
I started making TikTok videos recently and check out my first collection!
Louis Vuitton Unboxing
Earlier this year, I purchased a Louis Vuitton Card Holder. This video was my first voiceover. In all honesty, I get nervous over speaking sometimes and we have to start somewhere. I tried the native video editor and it didn’t have the best fonts or allowed for video clipping. I also wrote a blog post about this!
Come Eat Sugarfish with Me
Sugarfish became my favorite sushi restaurant after years of being in a love-hate relationship with the restaurant. There were definitely changes from 2016 to 2019 where I actually started liking Sugarfish a lot! I loved it so much that I wrote two blog posts about Sugarfish.
This was the first video I used a 3rd party video editor, InShot. I love that you can import custom fonts and you can clip videos as needed. I probably need to start looking into more fonts because I tend to stick to 2-3 standard ones. Maybe it is better for branding?
A Day in the Life ft. Saturday
A typical Saturday, going for my morning run, going on errands, and heading out to my friend’s birthday dinner.
Let’s Go Shopping Together
I went for an hour drive down to the Louis Vuitton store in Newport Beach’s Fashion Island. Gotta do what it takes to save that 3% in sales tax (about $85 in this case). I kind of offset the cost of gas by treating it as an adventure. I also visited the Chanel store and picked up a couple of goods for the next video.
Chanel Beauty Unboxing
I started learning how I can create more content by splitting videos. From my trip to Newport Beach, I visited the Chanel store for foundation and nail polish. Check out my unboxing blog post!
Come Visit Erewhon with Me
I took a whole trip out to Silverlake recently to go to Erewhon… For the second time in my life. If you think Whole Foods is bougie, Erewhon is next-level bougie. Two cookies for $8, a bit crazy. I obviously had nothing better to do but to visit and buy a $12 bottle of water to see how it compares to everyday water. That review is in editing right now.
If you enjoy my content on TikTok, drop a follow! As I go along through the journey, I hope I can continue to improve my video-taking, speaking, and editing skills. Something I learned about content creation is to still live presently. You don’t want to be sucked into creating content (taking pictures and recording video) that you’re not enjoying what’s around you live.

A collection of your own TikTok videos is such a fun idea. I’ve been getting more into TikTok recently and it’s fast becoming one of my favourite social platforms.

I did have tik tok to watch people and then I deleted it. But I think I would like to try make planner videos, as I would love to learn how to produce and edit short videos! I loved your Louis Vuitton unboxing, I have always wanted a bag from there. That wallet is beautiful. Thank you for sharing your tik tok post.

My twin got me into watching tiktok videos over the quarantine, there really is something for everyone there. I’m only into watching the videos, I haven’t made any though.
