The Lifestyle Edit is a blog series featuring some recent highlights of my day-to-day life. Hopefully, you’ll still find inspiration and relatable content through this blog series. If not, let’s still celebrate life and the everyday victories we face.
Wellness Warrior
It takes time and consistency to get from one point to the next. I struggled with running a year ago when I started at Barry’s Bootcamp, where a 7 was a hard push. Today, I will end my sprint with a 12 (while dealing with shin splints) and went from 10’s to 25’s for dumbbells.
Through the run club, we have different weekly routes, which means different elevations to push my endurance. I finally got my one-mile PR to 8:52 minutes. I remember even 9:59 being a struggle in my teen years.
That’s why you should never compare yourself to others – it takes time to see some progress.
The Ladies Social Club
I became more involved with Pretty Fun Things in the past few months. I’ve worked on their technology integration to allow a seamless user experience when purchasing an event, subscribing to their membership, and utilizing the group chat. Additionally, I was commissioned to bring an exclusive member sticker and keychain to life! I’m so happy that I’m exploring creative opportunities through this social club, as well as selling my stickers during events (with half of the proceeds going towards their community fund).
Golf Girlie
There are some cute Golf Girlie stickers now in the shop! Perfect for water bottles, laptops, and more! I ended up with two designs in two variations (white and clear background).
I went to Monarch Beach last month (twice in one week after the Malbon clinic) and bombed some shots off the tee box. There are days when my driver is OFF, but others when it is on point. At the iconic hole #3, the fairway is a dog left. Most normal people would try to land their ball a bit before the turn. Me? I went straight for the greens (where the dead tree is on the left). That ball landed on the outside edge.
Honestly, a good group with positive energy and vibes makes the biggest difference in golf. I was only able to do that because we had a great group. A couple of weeks ago, I was paired with randoms with weird energy that made me uncomfortable. But that’s golf? Learning how to play well even when random people are not giving their best energy.

Aside from Monarch Beach, I found a driving range about 10 minutes from my home that isn’t always packed. My previous favorite was about a 20-30 minute drive each way. An easy drive and quality practice are all I need.
Speaking of which, I won the closest to the pin competition for the ladies’ division at MNML Golf Club’s grand opening. 1.4 yards to the pin!
I’m keeping the momentum going by expanding my golf network. I’ve joined two other golf clubs, including a co-ed group that is more serious about playing golf. Let’s see where this journey takes us. Stay tuned for the next Lifestyle Edit.

Golf in the Heat
LA just went through a major 100F+ heat wave. We had a tee time where it was 104F when we teed off the 18th hole. I struggled when we hit the 90s for the first time back in June, and I learned how to prepare for golf in the heat.
- Bring an insulated bag.
- Fill a large Ziploc bag with ice.
- Bring a thermal cup.
- Keep refilling that thermal cup with liquids and ice throughout the 18 holes. I ended up drinking close to 50oz of non-alcoholic liquids. If you decide to drink alcohol, you need to drink A LOT of water.
- Pack a couple of frozen towels. Keep those frozen towels in a separate bag of ice. When your towel loses its coolness, dip it back in that separate bag to rechill.
- Bring a bag of disposable towelettes, and soak some peppermint oil (Thanks, Sherry).
- Reapply sunscreen hourly.
- Bring a portable fan.
Return to the Office
I wasn’t too happy when management kept throwing around the idea of returning to the office. Why am I going in when I can do the work at home? When I think about it, it has been over 4.5 years since we went remote. It’s not about my team. It’s about everyone else. I’ve gaslighted myself to embrace it. I also get to dust off my old corporate clothes. I still prefer my Lululemon leggings, but it’s good to wear something nice with a legitimate excuse. I’ll take it as long as I live within a commutable time.
