Bag Charms, twillys, keychains, and any trinkets are great ways to style and personalize your bags. We bounce back and forth between minimalism and maximalism in fashion. In the end, you can choose to express yourself however you like, whether it is something symbolic, representative, or truly random. For me, it’s a combination of aesthetics and personality.

Bag Charms: Trend vs. Timeless
If you look at the iconic Jane Birkin, you would see that she STYLED her bag with multiple charms. Not only does it hold 5-6 figures, but it also holds her free-spirited personality. Fashion and trends come and go so quickly. The last time I remembered bag charms being trendy was in 2016, then we threw everything away in 2020. Now we’ve been back to bag charms since 2024.
How you decide to charm up your bags is up to you. For me, a few of my Louis Vuitton bags get to have charms and cute accessories while the rest in the collection must stay plain and dainty at all costs. This is a good balance because I get to express my personality while also pulling off a certain aura when it’s time to bring out the Twist PM. People will always argue back and forth, that a $2500 handbag looks fine on its own, while others want to personalize it a bit to make it… them. At the end of the day, you do you, boo. You can always unclip those bag charms as you please – it’s nothing permanent like a hotstamp! It’s okay if you’re not feeling that Labubu every day.
In 2026, bag charms are still IN. This is your bag charm guide.

Styling with Bag Charms
Where does one start with bag charms? Think of the things you like; whether it’s food-themed, souvenirs, nostalgic items, or something aesthetic that matches your bag. You’d be shocked at how many food charms are out there. I am obsessed with sticky rice dumplings, and shockingly, there are zongzi bag charms out there. So, brainstorm general things you like and start looking for their bag charm counterparts. It’s a good idea to be specific as well; if you’re looking for something Disney, great – what about it? An Aulani flumeria bag charm?
Charms don’t always have to actually be charms. You can style your bag with chains, clipping one end to the other, as well as twillys to wrap the handle of your bag or tie a bow (or whatever design) at one end.

Where to Buy Bag Charms & Accessories
You can find bag charms anywhere. For the luxury fashionistas, the fashion houses like Coach, Hermes, Louis Vuitton, Miu Miu, Tumi, Prada, Loewe, Jacquemus, Dior, Gucci, Fendi, YSL, and more.
You can also opt to find more independent shops like Stickyzoo, Songmont, Smokonow, and my latest favorite – Christy Ng (Lunar New Year Blindbox Charm).
It’s totally okay to hop on trends and shop at Pop Mart for blind boxes. I didn’t know I was a sucker for the blind boxes and started digging through a few of their latest releases, because here I am with Hirono and Skullpanda bag charms. Otherwise, there’s always Weepy World, Sanrio, Hi Toy, Rolife, Jellycat, and more. You have to really DIG through the internet. In all honesty, Etsy is great for truly handmade charms. However, I’ve found that a lot of them are drop shippers from Temu/AliExpress. I’m not going to tell you to save the money and wait 3 weeks, but you decide what to do with that information.

The Bag Charm Edit
While balancing around the ideas of personalization and style, I found myself accessorizing my bags with Cinnamoroll, Kurmoi, Hirono, Skullpanda, Maison de Sabre (Air Tag Charms), and Louis Vuitton Charms. The Louis Vuitton Charms (Gyoza and Fortune Cookie) were on the extreme side, but I am absolutely in love with them as they are more representative on a personal level. If the Louis Vuitton Taiyaki ever comes to America, I am COPPING IT.

Air tag charms are also a big hit because it knocks two birds with one stone. I am OBSESSED with using Air Tags, so what better way to tuck them into one of those fruits by Maison de Sabre? Hello, I am looking for a cute variation of Asian foods/snacks (like xiao long bao). Or if there is one with a seashell, that would be great, thanks!
When it comes to protecting your bag charms, the biggest risk is the O-ring popping out, and next thing you know, your bag charm is MISSING. This has happened to me once, and the best way to fix this is to buy the keychain clip protector. All you have to do is cut the coil to the desired size and wrap it around the clip!

With Lunar New Year coming soon, I HAD to get the cute Lion Dance bag charm. I’ve seen the drop shipper selling it for $35-40, while it’s $5 directly from the source.
