The Le Chocolat Maxime Frederic Experience At the Louis Vuitton NYC Flagship
Le Chocolat Maxime Frederic is located at the Louis Vuitton flagship store in New York City. You enter the Louis Vuitton store, then take the escalators up three floors. Before entering the cafe, you are greeted with a delightful showcase of chocolates. Prior to the chocolate being sold, all boxes are QA’d for cracks and imperfections. You’ll be sold the perfect chocolate.
My overall experience at this chocolate shop was OKAY. It didn’t feel as special as dining at Le Cafe. I understand why they want to make the chocolate shop feel exclusive and high-end, so that no one can just walk in for a free sample as they do at Laderach. At least the client advisors are helpful enough to guide you through what is in each chocolate. I think the part that really messed up my experience was where I ordered three milk chocolate bars and they only packed two. I already left the store, two blocks later, when I looked and realized I was missing one, and had to go back. I was so lucky that a Louis Vuitton Client Advisor spotted me and escorted me up, as they were willing to address the issue.
Other than that, I might come back for more chocolate.

Milk Chocolate Crispy Hazelnut Spread
This is basically a Louis Vuitton chocolate bar. It does have crispy crushed nuts (or whatever it is), as a layer within the chocolate bar. I absolutely love how it was shaped as the Louis Vuitton Damier (checkerboard) pattern. This makes it perfect for breaking off and sharing with others. I was absolutely obsessed with this that I ate an entire box in one sitting…. Whoops. For $36, this was totally worth it.

Chocolate Bar Duo
The chocolate bar duo comes with a row of milk chocolate and dark chocolate. The milk chocolate and dark chocolate are filled with hazelnut spread, caramel, and a hazelnut shortbread cookie. I love that each “section” represents a piece of the Louis Vuitton monogram. This was $60, and great as a gift.

Filled Praline Mixed Choc
This 12-piece set comes with an assortment of milk and dark chocolate pralines with different fillings. There are two of each: coconut praline, hazelnut praline, peanut praline, toasted rice praline, almond vanilla praline, and pistachio praline. I am not a fan of dark chocolate and was a bit bummed out with its fillings. My favorite is the toasted rice praline. I love how each of the pralines represented each of the Louis Vuitton monogram motifs. This box itself was $75.
