Fortuna Restaurante is nested deep within the mountains of Valle de Guadalupe, about an hour from Ensenada. You’ll cruise alongside the mountain before going uphill and offroad to find the Maple Resort, where the restaurant resides. You’ll find that Fortuna Restaurante is secluded, with a fun Ferris wheel, valley swing, and an amazing view of the valley.
The Fortuna Restaurante Experience
The staff within Fortuna Restaurante are professionals; they’re respectful, and they’ll do what they can to cater to your experience. Throughout the restaurant, you’ll be dining with an amazing view of the mountains. This restaurant has separate menus for brunch and dinner, but the drink menu is all day. There are lots of drinks to choose from, whether you want a mimosa, bloody mary, or hard liquor.
We dined at Fortuna Restaurante during prime brunch hour on a Saturday, and there were a decent amount of guests. I ordered a smoked salmon toast and espresso. It appeared that the entire kitchen staff went on lunch break, so it took a while to get an espresso. However, the cocktails and champagne were out first. It felt a bit underwhelming as the food took about an hour to get to our table, but that’s fine. It gave me time for picture opportunities. The bright side is that the waiter spoke with us about this incident and made it right. All is forgiven, and still a beautiful place to check out. It could have been a one-time event.
For the Gram
There are many picture opportunities, whether you’re next to the Ferris wheel, heart, chairs, swings, or even overlooking the valley. This restaurant took advantage of the beautiful surroundings and turned them into an attraction. Our friends rode the Ferris wheel and the view from the top looked amazing! Overall, we felt safe, and would return.
The restaurant is beautiful. You can tell that the designer put a lot of thought into ensuring there’s something to take pictures of. If you’re looking for food recommendations, our table enjoyed the chicken dish during brunch the most. For the smoked salmon plate, ask for the bread to be toasted. The eggs benedict does not have hollandaise sauce, as it has melted cheese hovering over the eggs. Lastly, their smores waffles are big enough for at least 3 people.
Enjoy the view and experience!
This was part of my Baja California weekend trip!
