Pretty Fun Things hosted a private workout event, “Do It For Her” at the Nike Training Studio in Newport Beach as part of Women’s History Month. Paola, the Founder behind Pretty Fun Things does an amazing job of curating events and making sure everyone is included and has a great time. There is intention behind every detail of the experience, such as the goodie bag and more. You always come out feeling like you’re a better person than you were before arriving.
The Nike Training Studio
Nike has been hitting big with its fitness community, from its run clubs to its ambassadors and the Nike Training Studio. The Nike Training Studio is a fitness concept that incorporates strength training with HIIT. There is a different workout theme each day, which is great to get a consistent workout in, targeting specific body parts to let the other rest.
This was my first time at the Nike Training Studio in Newport Beach. Parking is fairly easy as it is in a multi-tenant plaza. I love that there is a Nike logo on the floor outside of the studio. Checking in is easy, you just go to the front desk, and the training space is right behind. It has all of the basic equipment, including benches, bands, dumbbells, barbells, kettlebells, sandbags, sleds, and more.
Just Do It Sunday
Since the event was on Sunday, we fell into the “Just Do It Sunday” theme. This targeted the whole body, which is great for first-timers. We had to partner up, and each station had specific workouts we had to do according to the monitor. It’s great because it tells you how many reps and the expectations. Some workouts included:
- Incline bench press
- Bicep curls
- Squats
- V-Ups
- Sandbag glute bridge
- Sled push/pull
- Burpees
Although there are monitors that indicate the required workout, there is a trainer who goes around and ensures you’re working with the right form.
The Workout Experience
I finished a workout at Barry’s Bootcamp right before, then drove an hour to Newport Beach. I was already exhausted, still didn’t eat, and managed to push through this workout. According to my Oura Ring, I think I had a quality workout! Since it was mostly strength-based, I didn’t expect my heart rate to be high. The facility is well-maintained, so it’s living up to the hype.
Pretty Fun Things
What an amazing event hosted by Pretty Fun Things! As always, the table setup is amazing. The goodie bags are great because they make every attendee feel loved. There is creativity and thought behind the details, including the cookies!
Pretty Fun Things has some exciting events and membership options in store. This is a great way to meet women and be in a comfortable space.
There was a raffle at the end, for free goodie bags from Nike and a bouquet by Dandi of Yours Truly Design. I won the gorgeous dozen roses floral arrangement. Honestly, this was what I needed. Flowers can brighten someone’s day.

This sounds like a great event, and a wonderful way to champion the brand, and keeping fit. It seems like a lot of thought was put into the experience (I’d love to won flowers too)!
