Ensenada Dining Guide to Punta Morro

April 5, 2024

Punta Morro features a high-end menu selection of land and sea, while giving a breathtaking ocean-view experience, located in the Punta Morro Hotel in Ensenada. As you enjoy your meal and drinks, you’ll hear the waves crashing against the rocks nearby. We dined here during the first night, as part of the Baja California weekend getaway trip. There are plenty of picture opportunities throughout the venue.

The Punta Morro Experience

The staff were amazing throughout our dining experience at Punta Morro. They were great at explaining the menu, as well as being attentive to our drinks and orders. The menu will vary throughout brunch, lunch, and dinner.

Ladies around the table have ordered pasta, steak, soup, chicken, and more. Meanwhile, the grilled octopus caught my attention. I loved how the octopus was charred to perfection. You can taste the slight crisp, and the sauce compliments the octopus really well. You can tell that the chefs took extra precaution when it comes to setting the presentation right.

The ingredients are very fresh as they rely on local fishermen and deliveries each morning. This means the menu is seasonal and can be prone to running out, which is relatively good news because there are other selections to choose from as well. I wanted a small appetizer, which the geoduck caught my attention. However, the server, Uriel, recommended the abalone and was gracious to give me one order.

I was so happy with how the meal turned out. The abalone was delicious, and I’m still thinking about that grilled octopus to this day.

The Dessert Menu

We thought we were going to leave, but ended up ordering from the dessert menu. They were able to create a chocolate martini drink for me, while serving some delicious chocolate truffles for my friends. You can also enjoy some ice cream and other selections.

Overall, I enjoyed my experience at Punta Morro. During high tide season, expect the waves to be a bit rough. However, it should not disrupt your experience at the restaurant as you have glass windows to protect you. You’ll hear the ocean waves splashing, but that enhances the experience more than anything.

There is parking available on premise, and I felt safe throughout my experience here. The restaurant is very clean and gives a very high-end vibe. If you’re bringing a large party or want to be sure, you can always have a reservation on OpenTable.
