This is your September Wellness Guide as we approach the end of the year. Summer is sailing away, and autumn is right around the corner.

The Autumn Wardrobe
This is a great time to start organizing your wardrobe and bring out some autumn colors and fashion. If you live in LA, fall doesn’t truly start until mid-November, because why am I still burning up during Halloween? If the weather permits, this is a great time to bring out those long boots, neutral trench coats, and pullover sweaters.
Otherwise, keep wearing the sleeveless-and-long-pants pairing. Consider switching things up and opt for the cream/black top and taupe pants color combination, or a cream top and brown bottom. Stay within the neutral range, but go for the darker shades.
Changing Up the Workout Routine
Your core workout routine can stay. Consider adding something different during the week. Pilates alone won’t do much for your body; you need to lift weights or run. Since we’re at the tail end of summer, it won’t be as hot out early in the morning or late in the evening, so go for that run.
Maybe your schedule doesn’t make sense for spending $40 on another class or buying a membership. That’s okay. You can also continue going to the same gym or class, but think of a goal, whether it’s heavier resistance, heavier weights, faster sprints, or a faster time. It will take time to get there.
You can choose a community that suits you, or just do your own thing. You can also attend a class and have someone curate a workout for you, or handle it yourself at home.
Seasonal Foods
Strawberries and spring fruits are phasing out of season. This is a great time to consider incorporating autumn harvests, including apples, pears, grapes, pomegranates, figs, persimmons, and such. Start saying goodbye to the strawberry-infused water, and start including apple or pear-infused water. For lunch, this is a great time to roast or steam some squash, sweet potatoes, and Brussels sprouts.
The weather will start to permit cooking up those mineral-rich broths.

The September Wellness Checklist
Time flies when you’re out having fun. March was only six months ago, and it’s time to take a step back and consider doing some things for your wellness.
When was the last time you had a haircut or trimmed your hair? The summer heat and sunlight can dry out and damage the ends of your hair. Get those split ends tended to! I’m huge on scalp spas because they help promote hair growth. When was the last time you had one of those?!
It is also a great time to clean up your inbox a bit. This means sitting down and tending to those emails you’ve been putting off. Get your backlog down to zero. This goes for your pictures as well – delete those screenshots and bad takes. You don’t need them anymore.
Take an opportunity to pick up a new book! I haven’t read or finished a book for YEARS. Erika from Barry’s published her first novel, Silence You Little Bird. This is going to be my first, and I look forward to finishing the book.
We were high on the Ibiza house vibes, and now we’re slowing down while staying within the house genre (or honestly, whatever you’d like). My fall playlist consists of chill music. I had to sneak a Bad Bunny song in. Lo Que La Paso a Hawaii speaks out against gentrification, warning that what has happened in Hawaii could potentially repeat in Puerto Rico.
With the weather changing, it’s time to look into an uplifted self-care routine for the season. I like to switch between Milbon and ATS shampoo and conditioner every six months. The same goes for my skincare routine. In certain months, I find Vitamin C and collagen to be super helpful; other times, I use retinol and hyaluronic acid. Restock different key ingredients for your eye patches, face masks, toners, and even scalp treatments. I used to spend HUNDREDS on a moisturizer from Shiseido. Then I went to Tatcha. Then I moved on to Chanel. Now I’m on some $20 collagen cream by Medicube, and it works just fine.
Also, don’t forget to clean out your fridge. That bottle of mayonnaise from 2025 can be tossed out. The same goes for those leftover In-N-Out sauce packets. While you’re doing that, you can also swap out the box of baking soda.
What have you crossed off the September Wellness Checklist?
