Princeville Makai Golf was a one-of-a-kind experience. Its 18 holes featured gorgeous views of woodlands, lakes, and the ocean. When you experience this golf course, you must take a minute to enjoy your surroundings. You can tell the course management takes phenomenal care of it, allowing guests to create a maximal memory.
The Experience
For first-timers, you can easily miss the Princeville Makai Golf Club entrance as you’re mesmerized by the surroundings. However, a couple of the holes are parallel to the main street. Once you pull in and settle into your golf cart, take a moment to enjoy the scenery. The facility is so spaced out, you have to walk to the pro shop, cafe, restroom, putting greens, and driving range.
The staff at the Princeville Makai Golf Club are so nice – they were very helpful with getting our bags out, the check-in process at the pro shop was easy, and the starter was great with taking the group picture! The facility is fully loaded, and they have whatever you need, including water. They even provide you a cold towel after your round.
The pro shop is fully loaded with a ton of branded merchandise, whether you’re looking for club head covers, hats, clothes, or other souvenirs for your collection. Collin was great and gave me the Princeville Makai bag tag – it’s made from wood and I love the design of it! Definitely keeping it on my main golf bag.
Let’s Play Golf
Princeville Makai Golf is not an easy course. The distance from the tee box to the hole is astronomical, so bombs away down the fairway! The tees have fancy names – so keep in mind where you’re teeing off. The course is not entirely a flat land, so expect challenges when you land on an uneasy lie. Bunkers are also notorious at this golf course.
Hole 3 is probably my favorite because it features a par 3 where you have to make sure your ball has a good flight over the canyon and lake, to the small greens. It’s very challenging.
However, Hole 7 is their money shot – featuring the bay, and you also have to hit your ball over a canyon.
The back 9 does feature some of the bay/ocean views as well – you can’t miss it as you approach hole 13. Hole 14 is another money shot.
Overall, the tee time fee was almost $300. Honestly, it was worth the experience because I got to take my time, enjoy the views, and challenge myself with a new course. Golf is a mental game. Worth it.
