La Luce Experience at Hilton Signia Orlando

May 11, 2025

La Luce brought me back to my trip to Italy, through its menu selection featuring antipasti, primi, and secondi. I had such a pleasant experience at this restaurant that I went two nights in a row, opting for this over the restaurants at the Disney World parks. I’ve dined at Bull and Bear at the Waldorf next door and prefer La Luce by far.

The Hilton Signia Orlando is connected to the Waldorf Astoria Orlando without the extra cost. There are hourly complimentary shuttles to the Disney World parks.

The service at La Luce is phenomenal. I managed to get a seat before closing, and the staff was very friendly.

Carpaccio

Features: beef filet / capers / arugula / parigiano / lemon and black pepper aioli / breadstick

The carpaccio originated from Italy in the 1950s and has been a big hit. Eating raw beef is a bit tricky because you have to navigate through the associated risks. However, once you overcome that, you’re welcomed into a brand new world.

Halibut Crudo

Features: preserved meyer lemon / fried capers / fresh herbs / radish / chili oil

The halibut crudo was my absolute favorite from the restaurant. The halibut cut and sauce complimented each other. I learned that citrus-based sauces go well with fresh, raw fish, hence why ponzu and yuzu sauces have been popping up lately.

Caesar Salad

Features: parmesan tuile

My bestie ordered the Caesar Salad—it was simple and straight to the point. Do you prefer whole or chopped greens for salads? There is an aesthetic touch when you leave them as whole as possible. You’re basically mimicking cutting a steak—but in salad mode.

Fritto Misto

Features: calamari / rock shrimp · fennel · onion · green bean · spicy aioli

Better known as the calamari. Because Italy is right next to the sea, they have every opportunity to have fresh seafood.

Vesuvio Alla Bolognase

Features: duck & reat ragu / aged provolone / burrata / fried sage

I was absolutely in love with this pasta because it had duck without the overpowering flavor of duck. The portion sizing was a big plus, too. This dish really brought me back to Italy with how simple it was. You start getting to the danger zone (i.e., American pasta) when you start having a laundry list of ingredients. You get the perfect balance with this dish. Highly recommended.

Grilled Ribeye

Features: 12oz ribeye / foraged mushrooms / corn / watercress / red wine jus

Unpopular opinion, but I enjoyed this steak so much more than the New York Wagyu steak from Bull and Bear??? I love ribeye cuts more because of the fat, even though it’s not exactly good for you. Best of all, the price is like 1/3 of the wagyu steak. The restaurant prepped this dish so well that it hit the spot.
