Upper Deck Golf Experience at Dodger Stadium

Upper Deck Golf has been partnering with sports stadiums to provide a unique golf experience. This past weekend, Upper Deck Golf hosted their golf event at Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles. It’s time for Dodger Golf! You don’t have to be a golfer to go; first-timers and kids are definitely welcome!

Through the Upper Deck Golf experience, you can walk around the stadium, mimicking 9 holes, and club off the platform into one of the designated colored flags on the field.

preparing for the experience

Depending on the stadium, the general rules still apply. If you don’t have golf clubs, righty and lefty sets are available on each platform. If you want to bring your own clubs, you can (read your email). At Dodger Stadium, we were only allowed to bring an SW, PW, 9, and 8 irons. They don’t allow low irons, drivers, fairway metals, putters, and other non-specified clubs. On top of that, leave your golf bags and backpack at home. You have to carry your own clubs through the 9 holes, so it’ll be smart to bring what you’re willing to carry.

Be sure to arrive early to have plenty of time to check out the venue, think about signing up for the driving/chipping/putting challenges (costs extra $$), and order beverages before teeing off. You’re given 18 balls (2 per hole). You have the option to purchase additional balls (about $10 per 4 extra).

Once you tee off, you’re at your own pace. You’re lining up at each platform and will be told to tee up at a specific platform with your group. At this point, you can make the decision to use 1 ball, 2 balls, more, or skip. You can take as long or as short as you want at a platform. After you finish a platform (or hole), you’ll follow signs that’ll take you to the next hole. At Dodger Stadium, each hole was about a 1-8 minute walk apart.

There was no wait for the earlier holes, but the lines got long on the 6th hole. The higher the platform, the longer the line will be because that’s where everyone wants a picture or video.

The whole Upper Deck Golf experience should take about 90 minutes.

the scorecard

We’re just having fun out here, but if you really need a scorecard, it basically mimics a Par 3 course. If you land within the green, you get a par. If you land within the inner circle next to the pin, it’s a birdie. Good luck with getting a hole-in-one. Most holes were 50-90 yards away.

This was a fun and casual event! It’s a bit pricey for what it is, but it’s worth the experience at least once. You also have to consider that this is a charity event. You’re here to have fun with some friends. There were lots of newbie golfers, so don’t feel the pressure of having to be at the PGA level. Plenty of guests have sliced, and that’s fine. This was also a great way to introduce golf to first-timers, given that clubs, balls, and targets were provided. I also enjoyed being able to walk through the stadium during the off-season and see how it was!
