The Lifestyle Edit XV

January 28, 2025

The Lifestyle Edit is a blog series featuring some recent highlights of my day-to-day life. Hopefully, you’ll still find inspiration and relatable content through this blog series. If not, let’s still celebrate life and the everyday victories we face.

Take Care of Yourself

The recent LA fires took a toll on a lot of us. Even more to those who have been impacted. We saw the resilience that LA showed by coming together as a community. People have been figuring out how to effectively help – and sharing their resources with others.

Take care of yourself. Listen to your body – if you’re overwhelmed, take a break from the source. Do something for yourself – it is okay to still partake in everyday activities to ease your soul and mind. If you did what you could to help, that is fine. That is more than enough.

Everything starts with you. When you put in the effort to take care of yourself, results will show. I put in a lot of effort to exercise, eat a balanced meal, learn to be decent at golf, advance in my career, and invest to live a privileged lifestyle. Proximity matters for attraction as well. If you’re looking for specifics, go where they’re at. It’s okay to know what is and what isn’t your cup of tea. It’s okay to be adamant about it. Time is finite and spend it mindfully.

Health is Wealth

I finally tried out pilates! It is definitely a different vibe than HIIT/crossfit, and I absolutely love it for the core exercise factor. If you could squeeze in a weekly pilates in the mix with other workouts, you will be unstoppable.

Going back to listening to your body, I had to pause the run club for a bit because the routes are too dark. I did not want to run the risk of tripping over something and hurting myself. That’s okay because I’m still maintaining my cardio through Barry’s. I’m pushing myself to maintain higher speed and heavier weights.

Your diet also compliments your exercises. How are you fueling your body pre and post workouts? I love eating a fresh rice bowl before playing golf for the carb energy. I’ve been mindful about consuming processed foods. It’s still okay to eat chips, but do it in moderation.

My golf goal for 2025 is to be mindful and intentional with my swings and game. I started keeping a journal to reflect on how my round and practice was, and what I need to improve on. My ultimate goal is to have fun, but I want to be decent. I’m happy with a 15-19 handicap.

I’ve also went out of my comfort zone and hung out with different golf groups throughout LA. Tropicana Girls and SGV9 have great people who just want to play golf. Meeting people is great and it’s nice to have more options.

My fitted clubs finally arrived! My bag is now stacked with the TaylorMade Qi10’s. Having new and fitted clubs mean having to get used to them again. It’s taking me some time, but I’m excited to have a new set!

Golf courses I’ve been to lately:

  • Oak Quarry Golf Club: It was a DRIVE out to Riverside, but the views were worthwhile. This was a difficult but fun course. Expect a lot of mountains.
  • Anaheim Hills Golf Club: My biggest challenge here was getting over the sounds of the power transmission lines over the course. The uphills were gnarly but we got up there quite easily.
  • Dos Lagos Golf Course: I was not a fan because the conditions were so bad. The starter rushed us to start before our tee time, and the round ended up being 6 hours long.
  • The Ranch: So nice to be back – but hopefully when I’m not sick and the weather is a lot more bearable.

I really appreciated the reminder about listening to our bodies, I think I need to get back into that as I know I could care for myself better in that regard. It sounds like you have been investing well in your health, and it’s great to see you still loving your golf!
